When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?
I feel like I have “me” time everyday honestly. It may not be for very long and I don’t do the most glamorous things but when he takes a nap, I also take nap with him or relax by reading books, do some online shopping, or even take a bath.
What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?
I take a shower daily. I also treat myself to something delicious almost everyday haha.
What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?
I think that sometimes we think “me” time has to be something glamorous when it doesn’t need to be. Sure, a spa day would be nice but even 15 minutes here and there to relax or put some makeup on makes a huge difference in my day and I love it 🙂

When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?
I like to go get a manicure or a blowout from time to time. They’re short little treatments that make me feel like a million bucks!
What are some of your favourite ways to practice self-care?
I take 30 minutes out of my day to work out. I make it a priority no matter how tired I am. To me, there’s no better way than to honour yourself and your body through showcasing its strength.
What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?
Stop feeling guilty. You’ll be better able to take care of your family if you’re taken care of first. Pretty sure that’s the golden rule 😉

When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?
I had a facial a few weeks ago! Besides the positive effect on my skin, I get to lie down for 30 minutes, so I’ll take it!
What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?
Writing is definitely my favorite way to practice self care. To me, self care means ways to quiet my sometimes anxious mind, and writing is my way to do that. To archive my days and look back on them with intention. It allows me to be more present and content.
What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?
For me, it seems that every minute of the day is full, and since I’m still up often at night with the baby, an early morning is just not something that works for me. My me-time happens at night after my little ones are in bed. It’s just the easiest time to take a breath and calm my mind from the day.

When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?
As a stay at home mama to 3 little ones and photographer, it truly is a challenge to be completely alone. But every day my “me-time” is after the kids are asleep, taking a nice hot shower and getting cozy in my pajamas. I then like to read or catch up on my favorite netflix series. It really is the little things that keep me happy.
What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?
In this phase of my life, my kids are my priority. But this mama needs to feel good to take care of everyone else. So I try to make healthy choices with my mind and my body. Some days that means cooking up something healthy in the kitchen and taking a few minutes to enjoy lunch solo as baby takes a nap. Sometimes it means giving in to that cookie craving. Going out for a walk to get some fresh air or waking up 30 minutes early to get in a workout. Although realistically since Baby #3 this has become more of a challenge. And not losing sight of who I am or what I need to be happy is also important. Doing the things that I love and am passionate about, like photography and cooking, helps me take care of me.
What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?
I honestly struggle with fitting me-time into my own crazy busy schedule, but I try to squeeze in even 10 minutes here or there for a cup of tea, a nice hot bath, reading a few pages in a book, applying a clay mask or even just driving thru Starbucks for a nice little treat. I try to wake up before the the kids and either do a quick workout or enjoy my coffee alone while catching up on emails. Taking the time to stretch after holding a baby all day. It doesn’t have to be extreme, but just taking a few moments to yourself to take a deep breathe & clear your mind during your busy day. We all take on so much every day. It’s not selfish, it’s necessary and refreshing. Taking just a little me-time makes us be better women, better partners, better mamas.

When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?
Now that I am a mother I consider “me-time” being able to listen to worship music, read the Bible and shower these days, which I can happily say I completed this morning.
What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?
Sometimes as mothers and as women in general we can get so caught up in comparing ourselves to others that we get lost in our own insecurities and doubts. I have learned to love and accept the woman and mother God has made me to be. I try not to waste time worrying if I’m competent enough for the job of a mother but instead believe in what I can do through God. His grace covers all of my imperfections and I know He will equip me with the strength and patience I need for each day. I take care of myself by resting in God’s love, mercy and grace instead of relying on my own strength. My goal is to remind myself of God’s unconditional love for me even when I don’t feel deserving of it. Self-love and acceptance is the best form of caring for your mind, body and soul.
What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?
It has been a challenging experience for me as I have recently resigned from my desk job of 6 plus years to be a stay at home mother to my now four month old twins. I try to get things done early in the morning before the girls wake up or during their nap times. Also, I honestly just ask for help. Thankfully, I have been blessed with a husband who will watch the babies when he gets home from work, so I can either take a shower or work on my photography. I am just taking it one day at a time while practicing patience with my children and most importantly myself.
