When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

Actually the last time I had me-time was when I flew to New York to be there when my sister had her baby. After a few days with my sister I spent a night in the city all by myself and spent the whole day shopping. It was amazing.

Other than that, I don’t really have  quality me-time…except to go to the grocery store or when I’m at work of course.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

Self care…lol…I’d have to say I’m probably really bad at this, but if at all possible I will take a nice quiet bubble bath, go shopping on my lunch break, or cook. I don’t post really any food photos on my Instagram but I love to cook. I find it relaxing and creative. It was really all I did to feel creative before I found Instagram.

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

The best advice I can give is to ask for help. If you need time to get away, ask for someone to help you with the kids. Ask you husband, boyfriend, friend, parents or get a babysitter for a few hours. You are no good to your kids, husband, or anyone if you aren’t taking care of yourself…eventually something has to give and if you wait to long to have a “me” day it doesn’t always end pretty.
