When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

Truthfully, as I sit here trying to think back, I haven’t really had “me-time” since Poppy was born. Breastfeeding makes that hard. But, the few walks to get Aubrey from daycare while Rob watches her definitely recharge my batteries. And to be totally honest, I know how fast these months of her needing me go by so I’m ok with putting myself aside for a bit longer.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

I love working out. Yoga has been a favorite of mine lately when the house is quiet, the boys are asleep in their beds, and Poppy is asleep next to me. It gives me a sense of confidence.

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

For those moms struggling, have a support system around you to help if you really need the time away. Or Schedule it in! I’m huge into planning. For me, my days revolve around kids, blogging, social media management, making sure we all eat, you know, the usual mom stuff when you work from home. But, once the kids are asleep, and my husband is asleep (he does morning shift so is in bed by 8pm) that is my time for me. And even when I’m exhausted, I’ll squeeze in a workout, or make a fancy coffee (decaf) and watch a movie that I want to watch. Taking that time whenever you have it, whether is 6am like my mom did or 8pm like I do, to have a quiet house and a happy heart will make all the difference.
