When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

I try to have little pockets of me-time every day. Usually we do 35 minutes of yoga & meditation in the morning at home. Faye just plays on her tummy and we get to exercise and regroup.

Once a month I have a 1 hour beauty appointment to which I am going solo. I fall asleep each time. Total bliss.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

Yoga and meditation!

But also face masks and long walks! It‘s also important to me to get dressed properly in a way that makes me feel good.

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

There is always a way. I think it’s important to define what me-time can mean in your unique and individual situation. It’s different with a newborn, to a toddler or teenager. And we all like to recharge in different ways.

Me-Time doesn’t have to mean that you have to be away from your baby, if that is not an option. When Faye was a newborn there was no way I could even put her down for a moment. Me-Time can be as simple as taking 3 deep breaths, taking a leisurely long shower or bath, applying a lovely body oil, aromatherapy or a face
mask.

A big tip is learning to accept help when friends or relatives offer it! Outsource errands and cleaning from time to time and just use that time for yourself. If you have a young baby you have to use nap time to your advantage.
