When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?
Just yesterday! = ) My husband had the day off and he did a little gardening with the girls while I went and got my hair done. I realize that when I’m gone, it’s his time to make special memories with the girls. It’s nice to come home and listen to what he did with them - both the girls and him need that time. Our parenting styles are different, and the kids get to experience that too which is a great balance. He’s more of the Martha Stewart kinda dad.
What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?
I’m eating food that makes me feel good. I think I hit a wall and I was tired of feeling tired….I’m on a new journey to feeling healthy. So currently, I’m enjoying reading about health and taking time to look the way I feel. It’s been nice getting my nails and hair done too. We work all my self care stuff into our monthly budget, and it helps maintain and schedule things out, so I don’t stop.
What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?
Starting to make changes isn’t always easy, but once you begin to see results it’s encouraging and you want more! I think that once you take time to love yourself you begin to get a pep in your step and you gain confidence. Being the best you is for You and those you love. They get the best version of yourself…
Being a mother has been one of the biggest blessings in my life but I’m also a wife, daughter, sister and business owner. I need to feel good about myself in order to have the patience and love freely.
I sit down with my husband and we schedule our month out in advance. This gives me time to ask my mom to babysit or our babysitter.
