When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

As I tend to look after my babe on my own my “me time” often is few and far between. (I.e I get up early to get ready/do my hair/look semi human and that’s pretty much the extent of my “me time”… you know, before I have a toddler riding me like a pony. ) HOWEVER, I am a massive proponent of taking some time out for yourself. Like before I had kids I used to hate going to the hairdresser because it took so long and I’d get so bored. But now I’m like ‘Hairdresser? Three hours? Make it four! Five! I’ll stay here all day!” Haha kidding…but seriously random beauty appointments are usually the “me time” I plan for myself. That and going to yoga, or on my daily runs…which currently, at 35 weeks pregnant I’m not doing. HA. Although once this baby comes out then that’ll be a must in my very limited “me time” schedule for sure!

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

Face masks, face masks, face masks! They always make me feel like I have my shiz together somehow? And exercise. I need to exercise for my mind. Sure lack of sleep doesn’t help, but on those days even getting out for a walk is better than nothing. Running/yoga are one of my favourite ways to practice self care as well. Plus, exercise is so good for your skin and makes you glow!

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

Just do it. Force your partner to take the kids or ask for somebody to help. When you’re happy your babe is happy and making some time for yourself makes this whole mumming business so much easier to deal with.
