When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

I try to have “me” time at least 2 evenings a week. I go running with a friend of mine. It gives us a chance to have girl talk and get a work out in. It’s a very important part of my week!

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

My favorite ways to practice self care are through exercise and drawing. The exercise obviously helps me physically but also helps me feel more confident about myself. I also feel it is very important to be physically fit, so that I can keep up with my kids and not be limited by my health.

Drawing on the other hand is super therapeutic for me. It helps relieve stress and it is something that I am decent at. It important for me to have something that I can excel at that has nothing to do with parenting.

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

I struggled for a long time creating “me” time. I have 3 very young kids and a husband who works long hours. Sometimes it’s just not possible to have real alone time. I have learned to make “me time” when I’m with my kids. I really love being outdoors so I incorporate it into our daily lives. It rejuvenates me and my kids. My kids can run around an open field and I can have a break from cleaning, cooking, or being peace maker. Something about open air allows my mind to be at ease and feel refreshed.
