When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

This morning! I spent me-time at the gym.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care? 

I go to the gym on average 5-6 days a week. I generally get a manicure or pedicure once a month or so, or get my hair done. Sometimes it’s something as little as leaving the kids with my husband and going for a short drive, or calling our nanny to come over so I can pick up groceries alone or read a book outside. I feel like mental self care and physical self care are equally important.

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

This can be a tough one! I realized early on with my son that routines were key to our relationship. When they start going to bed at the same time or wanting to do things for themselves more, utilize that silence for a mental break for yourself. And don’t be afraid to ask for help from friends and family- nobody is going to think less of you for it. I am very lucky in that my kids play well together and on their own. They’re old enough to understand when I need a moment to be alone. I’m also not afraid to verbalize the need for me time to my husband, and he’s always super supportive and helpful.
