When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?
I try to get time for myself every day. Just this morning, after I finished a few interviews for my new online health and wellness program ‘Body of Dance‘, I sat in my local cafe and enjoyed a cup of tea. Even though I had to get back to work it was still nice to get 10 minutes for myself. I think this is so important for our overall health and wellbeing.
What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?
My list is endless! They can include: an epsom salt bath after Violet is in bed, 10 minutes of stretching in my lounge room, a cup of tea on the balcony, a massage, walking our dog, a drive with the windows down or sitting on the couch with a favourite book.
What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?
I believe there is always 5 minutes somewhere for yourself. When I put Violet down for a nap I spend time for myself first, then get to the list of jobs. Some days I may choose to wake earlier to do something for me, that helps start the day right. I also believe planning and preparation is important with children, so if I can structure my day well, I can prioritise some me time somewhere.
