When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?
At 6am this morning during yoga class!
What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?
I have loads but they didn’t all come into my life at once. I meditate daily, go to yoga, self massage with beautiful body oil every day after I have a shower, eat well (that includes letting go too, and just having whatever the heck I want – the only rule is you have to enjoy whatever that is and no guilt allowed!), read, journal and go shopping for stuff I don’t need, from time to time.
What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?
Start tomorrow with one small self care habit which you’d like to make part of your daily self care ritual. Maybe that’s meditation, journalling, or getting out for a walk before the kids wake up. I heard somewhere it takes 66 days to for a habit, so stick to it! Once you’ve mastered that one, add in another, and so on. You’ll soon find there is time for anything you wholeheartedly WANT in your life. Also, schedule in a weekly self care activity where you get out of the house on your own. You can do whatever you like in the time that you have (exercise might be your thing, or it could be going to the movies on your own) but remember to mark it in your diary as you would an appointment (e.g. “a meeting with ME”!).
