When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

The last time I had some “me-time” inside the home was a nice hot bath about a month ago when we were all under the weather. The last time I had “me-time” outside the house was when I went to a ballet class that was much much needed. Dance used to be such a huge part of my life, and it had been over a year since I had taken a class (I teach barre and dance to kids, but that doesn’t count). I felt like I lost a little part of myself and when I went to the class I felt so refreshed and I was reminded that that person is still inside me along with all those dreams, even if they’re on hold for a little while. 

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care? 

I love to get my nails done, take super hot baths by myself, and I love to workout. Exercise is so essential for me to be a good mom and wife. 

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself? 

I struggle with the same thing, and the only way I can get away to exercise is because it’s my job. If I really need some time to myself I utilize naptime, and try to pamper myself as much as possible. If not during naptime, try to help your husband understand how much you need that time to yourself and say ‘peace out, I’m gonna go workout’. Or get your nails done. Or get a massage. Whatever! Even just an hour feels like heaven.
