When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

My ‘Me time’ is usually a glass of wine with my husband at the end of the day after we’ve put our kids to bed. Its the time of day we just relax and chat about our days.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

I’m a big fan of meditation. In the beginning I found it really hard to do but I can now do 20 minutes a day and I feel like it completely resets my mind and body. I really believe that you need to take care of yourself in order to be able to take care of others.

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself? 

I think take the first small step. Blocking out an entire day might be hard to make happen, so start small. Everyone can make 15 minutes for themselves a day and once you have that a regular routine then slowly increase the amount of time. Not only will you be in the practice of taking time for yourself, your family will also adjust and know that it’s your time. As Mums, we always put everyone else first so we have to be strong and committed to making the time for ourselves.
