When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

Ahhh that is such a good question. Most of my time I am spending it with Sofia and if I do get my parents to watch her then I am normally at an event, shooting or working on my fashion blog. If I really thought about it though, it was probably back in January for a bachelorette party in Cancun. It was second weekend trip away from Sofia, but the first that involved relaxation, fun and no work. So you bet it was spent on the beach and laying out with a few mojitos in hand.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care? 

This one is pretty important. A lot of time we get so lost in the everyday duties that come with motherhood where I feel like I am dropping from every aspect of my life. The piece of my life that gives me joy and is my passion is having my fashion blog, Style The Girl. At first it was just a hobby, but not it allows me an outlet to express what I love, from fashion to family.   

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself? 

For me my “me-time” is normally once Sofia takes her 1-2 hours naps in the late afternoon. This allows me any me time that I want. From taking a shower, working on my blog, responding to emails, cleaning the house, dishes or just saying “Forget it, I am watching tv and not doing anything.” Yes, even though some of those items are more revolved around taking care of the house, it does make it happy when the house is clean, I have no emails in my box, my posts are done for the next day and I actually have clean hair versus the intense amounts of dry shampoo. 🙂 Another thing that I am very blessed to have is a babysitter that will come 1-2 times a week for up to 3 hours each time to watch Sofia. This allows me to fully focus on my blog and get things done, so I am not doing so at 1am.
