When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

The last time I had my “me-time” was last Monday, when I travelled to another city to walk, do shopping, sit in a cafe and think a lot – all that on my own. Nowadays I’m often around other people, even if it is just my husband and my daughter, and I love these moments, but I also appreciate it that you can sort out your thoughts, wishes and issues in your mind when you are alone. I should do that more often, I guess.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

I have to say that motherhood has switched my priorities greatly. Before becoming a mother, besides daily care, I would spend several hours on my hair, nails and skin twice a week. Nowadays it’s more like I have to remind myself to spare those couple of hours per week for my self-care. I believe that’s normal, I notice that it’s slowly going back to my ‘normal’ rhythm.

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

At the moment, I do my nails and a facial massage once a week when Aveline is sleeping (for this point I’ll have to say that creating a strict sleep routine for our baby helped majorly) and I take some time for the shower and some basic procedures every evening. We put our baby to sleep at 20.00 in the evening so the time after that is for ourselves.
