When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

Me time!?! Good question.

Well I have just started Bootcamp fitness sessions – 30 minute high intensity training, three times a week and I am loving it. I use to be fit before my kids so I am loving the ME time this provides! It allows me to exercise, get fit, escape the busy routine of Mum life and focus on ME for a change, whilst being a role model to my children to take care of your mind, body and spirit.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

Practicing self care is super important I believe. Finding passions, hobbies and life loves. For me that is Interior Styling.

I was getting caught up in being a ‘Mum’ and putting myself last with all the craziness of running the kids around to all their activities and the never ending house work! I was finding myself becoming bitter and saddened that I never got to do anything I loved or pursue any passions I use to have.

So that was when I started my Instagram account which allowed me to balance my passion for Interior, work in my own time, from home and still maintain Mum life. It is a new lease of life for me. 

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

Me time! Anyone can do it! It’s all about planning, organization and being proactive! No more excuses! Find what you love, and find ways to do it. Becoming a Mum shouldn’t define who you are as a person but only be an element of your life. 

Weekly planners are very important in our household. Put it on the fridge, so it’s in your face and makes planning for the week much easier. Meal planning is also very important. Most days I make dinner at lunch time, because on our busy afternoons, we may not get home until 7pm. I now make the kids lunches the night before, have bags packed for activities and ready to go in the car.

Take the opportunity to plan out your daily dinners. I recommend a slow cooker if you don’t already own one. You can make healthy meals anytime of the day and put it on when suits and it cooks your meal for you while you are out and about.
