When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

Gosh… Ummmmmmmm… Hmmmmmmm… obviously too long ago! I think that would be why I feel VERY scattery at the moment. I do try to have ‘me time’ but as life would dictate the busy-ness of my days, I just don’t seem to have been able to squeeze anything in! Would a recent colonoscopy, therefore being anesthetised count? Ha! No… time to block out a day I think. 

My ultimate day would be a few hours at the local hot springs in Rye, they are heaven on earth!

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

Having a long, hot bath with a good book or magazine, a nice long walk, time at the hair salon, a massage or facial, dinner with the girls and lots of laughs. I think as long as it re-fuels your soul then it is good for you!

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

We are our own worst enemies when it comes to self-care as we ALWAYS put ourselves last! I think we just have to MAKE time. Put it in the calendar and make it clear to everyone in the family that you will be unreachable that day. Plan what you are going to do so that you can get the most out of it and then make a point to do it again and again AND AGAIN!!!
