When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

The last time I had any substantial time to myself was about 2 weeks ago and I had the whole day to myself (what a treat). I spent the day at the beach, made myself a delicious healthy lunch and curled up under the sun with a good book that I have been waiting to read for ages. It was divine, just to have some space to pause, breathe and reconnect to myself.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

For me it is all about spending time going inwards as opposed to pampering. So meditation, journaling, yoga, spending time in nature, dancing, playing music. Anything that enables me to deeply connect to that deeper part of myself, my soul and also really just celebrate life!

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

Prioritise it. “You cannot serve from an empty cup” is my mantra that I have to remind myself over and over again. When I understand this and know how crucial ‘me-time’ is it becomes easier to put it into my schedule. Me-time makes me a better mother, wife, friend, sister, daughter etc. So if I look after myself, everyone benefits.
