When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?
I was fortunate to have a couple of days recently in the Byron Hinterland checking out some glamping places. Nothing better than no T.V, no internet and just chatting with the locals while searching for amazing organic products in the little stalls dotted all over the countryside.
What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?
I’ve been studying Yoga as an Iyenga teacher trainee for a number of years now and find this to be the most rewarding “me” time. It’s the perfect mix of meditation while still working the body to keep me fit and flexible.
What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?
I know how hard this can be having been a single mum and there are times that you just can’t “switch off” so it’s important to create some form of routine. For me, once my son is at school I get to yoga then make sure I take my dog Stanley for a walk to the beach, then into work and house chores. Obviously my work can take me to different places and jobs can come up at the last minute so I need to be prepared for that as well.
