When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?
The last time I had me-time was (certainly not at the minute as I sit typing this with my five year old chatting to me and trying to make me move over hahaha)… this is actually a hard one, I can’t really remember a recent time, so I will have to say on my birthday last September, where I got to indulge in a facial and massage.
What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?
Having had a baby a year ago, self care hasn’t been on my agenda, but having a personal trainer as a husband, self care is very important to him, so he has just signed me up for pilates and yoga, which I will be starting this week. I’m looking forward to getting back on track with my health and taking some time out for me.
What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?
As mentioned above me-time can be quite elusive to me and I’m sure a lot of mumma’s out there. I think having open communication with your partner and looking at both of your schedules and making sure there is time in the week where you can pencil in some time for yourself is important for your health and your sanity, I think men are great at doing this for themselves so we really need to take a leaf out of their book and do the same.
