When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

Actually yesterday. We have our fourth baby due in a few weeks so I had a lovely voucher for a massage – it was so delightful I fell asleep in it! I also try very hard to have time to myself even if it’s just that 5min in the morning with a cuppa if the kids are running around – where you zone out and just breathe!! 

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

Listening to podcasts, swimming, listening to music, listening to classical music in the house, walking around the block – yes all very simple but makes such a difference! 

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

By realising that we need it, like every human being, otherwise it builds up and we become an imploder or exploder. There have times where I’ve been in my active wear out the door to train and found myself walking slowly to a coffee shop to sit and take it all in. Mental health is just as important as physically training. 

Other times when my husband has come home I’ve said “I just need a walk around the block” and he has been so supportive in saying yes.
