When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

I use my daughter’s nap time as my me time everyday. She’s usually down for 2.5 hours so after I finish the things I need to get done (eating, cleaning the house, showering) I use the rest of my time to either work on my blog or just watch T.V. and not do anything. I also work part time every evening in a lab by myself, so that alone time really helps me recoup from the day and get ready for the next day. 

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

I really need balance when it comes to self care. Sometimes it means vegging out on the couch and giving myself time to be lazy, and other times it means exercising or painting my nails or reading a book. 

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

I’m lucky to have my job where I work alone because that allows me to get a break everyday from being a mom. I’d say communication with your spouse is key–let him know that you need a break and that having that me time will make you a better wife and mother. Then make sure you schedule that time so it actually happens and doesn’t become something you eventually get around to.
