When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

It was last night. My husband is away in Amsterdam and the minute the urchin hit the sack, I cracked open the chilled rose, made myself some smoked salmon sarnies with a squeeze of lemon (so bourgeois) and scoffed a bag of Galaxy Counters to a backdrop of The Good Wife. Happy, happy days.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

Having a bath every night before going to bed. I ditched morning showers because they stressed me out with a kid grappling at your towel and the general ‘I want Shreddies, no Cheerios’ morning frenzy. I just give myself an hour to soak in the evenings instead.

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”? How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

It’s about being realistic. You’re not going to carve out hours to read War & Peace but simple shifts in routine (like having an evening bath instead of rushed morning shower) can make such a difference to your day. That said my best mate was APPALLED that I don’t shower in the mornings – each to their own!
