When was the last time you had “me-time” and how did you spend that time?

The last time I had “me time” was last night – my mum watched Cruz for me and I went to the gym to do weights. I truly enjoy working out and I am forever grateful to my family who help me out and allow me to have that time.

I also love having a nice shower on my own, so I always make sure Cruz is asleep when I do that. I never realised how good a shower is on your own is, until I had a bub.

What are some of your favourite ways to practice self care?

Practicing self care to me is a whole range of things. Stretching and breathing helps to relieve daily stress and helps me to reset my mind in a positive way.

I love working out. I do a session about 3 times a week at HIIT AUSTRALIA and I also have a personal training session which I love.

I enjoy my daily face washing routine – I know that sounds funny but it helps me feel good about myself. I also love getting out in the fresh air, walking my dog or going to watch a sunset by the water.

What advice would you give to mamas struggling to create “me-time”?

I am blessed to have a lot of help from my family, but this isn’t always the case. When you put your little ones down for a nap, schedule in some you time to do what you love. Say yes to help from loved ones. If you truly struggle to find time, when you are hanging washing out or washing up, take a step back and take some deep breaths and have a little stretch. It really does your head wonders.

How do you make time in your schedule for yourself?

It’s always in my diary. Each Sunday I will plan the week and look at what will work in best for Cruz and everyone else. It doesn’t always go to plan but most of the time it does. It was hard at first to say yes to help with Cruz as I adore him and miss him when he is gone. But it helps me reset myself and I believe that is good for my soul.
